BYOM (pronounced “biome”), which stands for “bring your own mug,” is a sustainable coworking hub and coffee bar preparing to open in Philadelphia. Its flexible build-your-own hours and affordable membership plans cater to the self-employed, while its commitment to reusable service items, composting, and resource sharing attract an environmentally conscious crowd.
Branding Elements
BYOM makes use of various logo arrangements in color and monochrome depending on scale and background. The typeface is DIN 2014 Bold and regular, with modified “m”s and “n”s for special headers. The colorful mug pattern carries the “bring your own mug” message and imagery throughout BYOM’s app, packaging, and print pieces.
Environmental Branding Applications
Scheduling Application
The BYOM app is a scheduling and membership management portal. Users can browse available tables and rooms to reserve ahead of time, modify or cancel upcoming reservations, and manage their membership level and payment methods in-app.
Unboxing BYOM
To prepare to open, BYOM launched a campaign of mailer boxes sent to Philly’s finest micro-influencers. In exchange for two months membership, they could receive this gift box and post an unboxing and PSA about the upcoming open house on their Instagram stories. The box contains a mug and sticker sheet, to be decorated at home or brought to the space, and samples of BYOM’s in-house roasted coffee, one of their blends and one single origin in 8 oz compostable pouches.
